CIS CANADA-WEST CONFERENCE REPORT - University of Manitoba Bisons netminder Krister Toews is the Canada-West Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending February 6th.

Toews, a freshman with the Bisons, helped the team to a tie and a win over the University of Regina Cougers this weekend. On Friday, Toews made 29 saves in a 4-4 tie with the Cougars. He followed up with a 23-save shutout as the Bisons blanked the Cougars 2-0 on Saturday.

Toews, a former Portland Winter Hawk, has appeared in all 26 of the Bisons' Canada-West conference games this season, posting 15 wins and three shutouts.

In other Canada-West news, former WHLers Wade Davis and Gable Gross each tallied twice to lead the University of Calgary Dinos to a 6-2 win over the University of Alberta Golden Bears on Saturday. The Dinos' victory snaps a six-year, 45-game winless streak versus the Golden Bears.
