Modesto, CA. - Parker French twirled the first nine-inning complete game in the California League to lead the Modesto Nuts to a 5-0 win against the Stockton Ports, their first sweep of the season.
French (W, 4-5) carried the Nuts (4-3; 30-47) to their first three-game winning streak of the year tossing nine innings while striking out a career-high nine with no walks and just four hits. French has hung 16 consecutive scoreless innings in his last two starts.
Brett Graves (L, 3-7) allowed three runs on seven hits in three innings of work in his start for the Ports (3-4; 30-47). Omar Carrizales scored on a double-play grounder in the first. With the third inning extended on an error, Drew Weeks drove in two with a two-out single.
Troy Stein added his sixth home run of the year, a solo shot off the scoreboard in left in the sixth inning.
