(SCHAUMBURG, Illinois) - The Schaumburg Boomers defeated the Evansville Otters 11-6 on Wednesday afternoon in the middle game of a three game series.

Infielder Taylor Black went 3-for-5 in the game with two runs batted in as catcher Billy Killian had three hits and an RBI triple as well.

Evansville leapt ahead in the second inning against right-hander Alex Rivers. With a man on base, catcher Billy Killian lifted a fly ball to left field that Chad Mozingo missed on a dive and rolled away for an RBI triple.

The Otters handed starter Matt Crim the 1-0 lead but the lefty surrendered the advantage in a five-run bottom of the inning.

Down 5-1, Evansville then rallied again in the fourth inning. The Otters tried a double steal that worked as catcher Mike Valadez threw the ball to left field allowing DeAngelo Mack to score from second. But at the tail end of the play, runner Luis Parache was thrown out trying to advance to third. An argument ensued and Otters manager Andy McCauley was ejected from the game by base umpire Keith Rogowski.

The Boomers then rallied for the next six runs of the game and took a 11-2 lead into the final inning.

The Evansville Otters didn't go down in order though, rallying to score four runs before the final out was recorded.

Schaumburg evens up the series with the 11-6 victory. The Boomers are now 49-37 with the win as Evansville stands at 40-45.

Rivers (4-3) earns the win after allowing two runs (one earned) in a span of 7.0 innings. Crim (3-9) takes the loss, yielding five runs in a season-short 1.1 innings.

Evansville will look to win the series on Thursday in the final meeting against Schaumburg this season. The Otters have their ace lefty Adam Champion (6-4, 2.20 ERA) on the mound. He will be opposed by Boomers right-hander Robby Donovan (9-4, 3.34). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CDT.
