
San Francisco Signs 'Belters Own Giant

NORMAL, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, are proud to announce that right-handed pitcher Mitch Mormann's contract has been purchased by the San Francisco Giants. The CornBelters continue play at home through Thursday against the Traverse City Beach Bums!
Mormann played at Wichita State University and hails from Manchester, Iowa. He made his professional baseball debut with Normal earlier this season. The 6-foot 6-inch, 245-pound righty leaves the CornBelters with a 4.50 ERA after 15 appearances and 1 save.
"I am proud of him. He has worked extremely hard and has a great character," said field manager Chad Parker. "He will do very well at the next level."
