STAT OF THE DAY: The Shorebirds are 4-4 this season in games following off days

BONUS: The Shorebirds have played 16 extra inning games this season with 11 coming at Perdue Stadium

PREVIEW: Following a 4-4 road trip and an off day, the Shorebirds return to Perdue Stadium for the final eight games of the season. The Shorebirds are ending the season at home for a fourth consecutive year. Delmarva has been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention while the Intimidators are 5.5 games back in third place.

ASSISTING THE TEAM: Right fielder Mikey Planeta leads the South Atlantic League with 16 outfield assists this season. The last player to record more than 16 was Arturo Rivas, who notched 17 in 2005. According to the current MILB stats portal and The Baseball Cube, nobody in Shorebirds history has ever recorded more than 17 outfield assists in a single season.

ON A TEAR: Shorebirds shortstop Garabez Rosa is on a tear of late. He has recorded a multiple hits in five straight games. He is 12-for-21 during his last five games (.571). His batting average has jumped from .238 to .254 during the stretch. Rosa is now batting .289 in the month of August in 24 games, his highest month average since April (.333).

MORELAND/STARTUP PROMOTED: Kenny Moreland and Will Startup were promoted to Frederick on Sunday afternoon. Moreland started for the Keys on Sunday and earned a no-decision. Startup earned the win in the final 2.2 innings. Moreland won seven games in 16 starts while Startup went 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA in seven appearances.
