STAT OF THE NIGHT: Michael Mooney has not made an error in 15 straight games at second base. He has committed only one error all season in 21 starts in the field. He had just 11 career errors in 366 total chances coming into the year.

PREVIEW: After splitting a four-game series with the Suns (Nationals), the Shorebirds entertain the BlueClaws (Phillies) over the next four nights. The Shorebirds were held without a run over the final seven innings last night in a Hagerstown 3-1 win. Matt Bywater tossed five scoreless innings, but did not factor into the decision. The Shorebirds are eight games back of Hickory with just 34 games remaining in the season, all of which will be played against the Northern Division.

BROTHERS IN MILB: Three Shorebirds have brothers playing for other MiLB teams. Michael Mooney's brother, Peter Mooney, plays for the GCL Blue Jays. Riley Hornback's brother, Ryan Hornback, is playing for the GCL Pirates while Adam Gaylord's brother, Brian Gaylord, is playing for the AZL Royals.

12 STRAIGHT ON-BASE: Shorebirds infielder Ty Kelly has reached base in 12 straight games dating back to July 18. Kelly has 14 hits and 13 walks during the last 12 games.

10 STRAIGHT SCORELESS: Shorebirds reliever Ashur Tolliver has not allowed a run in 10 consecutive innings over his last six outings. Since June 18, his ERA has dropped from 5.17 to 2.84.

FIRST INNING RUN': The Shorebirds have not scored a first-inning run in the last eight games. The Shorebirds last scored in the first on July 22 when they plated two against Rome.

11 ERRORS: The Shorebirds committed 11 errors in their most recent four-game series against Hagerstown. The Shorebirds have made at least one error in ten straight games.

VOTE FOR HORNBACK: Riley Hornback is part of the 5th Annual Minors Moniker Madness contest, which crowns the best name in Minor League Baseball. Round one voting begins on August 1 1 and ends August 7.

WHAT'S GONE: The Shorebirds have lost a lot out of their lineup this season. A total of 71 doubles, 30 home runs, 346 hits, 196 RBIs, 529 total bases and 202 runs scored are no longer with the team. From a pitching standpoint, the Shorebirds also lost 13 wins, 185.0 innings and 170 strikeouts.

LEAGUE WALK LEADER: Brenden Webb leads the SAL with 64 walks and ranks tied for 14th in Minor League Baseball. Webb walked 30 times in the month of July.

FOUR GAMER FOR HORNBACK: Riley Hornback is riding a four-game hitting streak, a season long. His 5-for-13 during the stretch.

100 HITS, TWICE: Ty Kelly has 104 hits this season and had 126 hits last year. He is the second player in franchise history to record 100+ hits over multiple seasons.

CALIFORNIA CONNECTION: The Shorebirds have nine players on the roster that hail from the state of California (Brenden Webb, Ty Kelly, Tim Berry, David Baker, Joe Oliveira, Travis Strong, Adam Gaylord, Matt Bywater and Jarret Martin).
