The Lexington Legends committed six errors, but pulled out an 8-7 win over Kannapolis in 11 innings Monday night.

Kannapolis took advantage of Legends' miscues to score three runs in the third. With one out, Miguel Gonzalez singled and Dusty Harvard reached on an error by third baseman Mike Kvasnicka. Keenyn Walker grounded back to pitcher Ruben Alaniz, whose throw to second went into center field for the second error of the inning. Gonzalez scored on the play, and Harvard went to third. Walker stole second, and when catcher Roberto Pena's throw went into center field for a third error, Harvard scored and Walker advanced to third. Carlos Sanchez then singled to drive home Walker, giving Kannapolis a 3-0 lead.

Lexington answered with six runs in the fourth. After Telvin Nash was hit by a pitch and Tyler Burnett walked, Daniel Adamson hit his fourth home run of the year to tie the game at 3-3. One out later, Pena and Emilio King singled and Delino DeShields Jr. was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Jay Austin followed with a double that plated Pena and King. DeShields went to third, from where he scored on a wild pitch to give the Legends a 6-3 advantage.

Kannapolis cut the lead to one in the sixth. Sanchez led off with a single, and advanced to third when Marcus Semien bunted to pitcher David Martinez, who threw high to first for an error. Semien broke for second on a ball in the dirt, and when Pena's throw went into center field, Sanchez scored and Semien went to third. Dan Black's sacrifice fly brought home Semien to make the score 6-5.

The Intimidators tied the game in the eighth. Walker singed, moved to second on Sanchez' sacrifice bunt and scored on Semien's single.

Kannapolis took a 7-6 lead in the ninth. Black led off with a walk and was replaced by pinch-runner Collin Kuhn. With one out, Mt. Sterling, Ky.

native Drew Lee singled, advancing Kuhn to third. After Gonzalez was intentionally walked to load the bases, Harvard grounded into a force out at second as Kuhn scored the go-ahead run.

The Legends tied the game in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Nash walked, and Bryce Lane replaced him as a pinch runner. Burnett grounded to Sanchez at second base. And his throw to second for a force play went into left center field for an error, moving Lane to third. Adamson's sacrifice fly to center drove in Lane with the tying run.

After Lexington right fielder Emilio King threw out a runner at the plate in the top of the 11th, Lexington won the game in the bottom half. With one out, Kvasnicka doubled. After Lane was intentionally walked, a wild pitch moved the runners up to second and third. Burnett grounded to first baseman Leighton Pangilinan, who threw to third as Kvasnicka rounded the base, but the throw was low and went past third for an error, and Kvasnicka scored the winning run.

Jason Chowning (4-3) got the win in relief. Wes Whisler (0-1) was handed the loss.

The Legends and Intimidators will play game two of a four- game series tomorrow evening. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
