PREVIEW: The Shorebirds routed the Lakewood BlueClaws, 13-1 on Friday evening. Delmarva pounced on Ranfi Casimiro with five runs in both the second and fourth innings. Trey Mancini fi- nally broke through for his first home run of the year, a mammoth three-run shot. Hunter Harvey cruised to a win, allowing one unearned run in six innings.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Tyler Viza will start game three for Lakewood on Saturday. Viza is making his tenth start of the year, going 2-5 with a 3.88 ERA so far. Unlike the other BlueClaws' starters this series, Viza has not faced Delmarva before. The right-hander has lost his last three starts. The Phillies drafted Viza out of high school in the 32nd round of the 2013 MLB Draft. The Arizona na- tive started his professional career in the GCL, going 1-0 with a 1.41 ERA last year.

19TH SEASON: The 2014 season marks the 19th season of Shorebirds baseball on the Eastern Shore and 18th straight year as a Baltimore Orioles affiliate. The Shorebirds' first season was 1996 as a Montreal Expos farm team.

ORIOLES WATCH: The Baltimore Orioles fell back to under .500 with a 2-1 loss to the Houston Astros. Miguel Gonzalez did not allow a hit through the first five innings, but Houston rallied for two runs in the seventh. The O's are now 26-27, the latest they've had a losing record since the end of the 2011 regular season.

THE IRON IS HOT: 19 out of the 25 players on the Shorebirds active roster appeared for the Ab- erdeen IronBirds in 2013. The IronBirds put together an impressive season, making the playoffs for the first time in their 12-year franchise history. Aberdeen won the McNamara Division in the New York-Penn League with a 40-32 record. The IronBirds lost in the first round of the NYPL play- offs, losing 2 games to 0 against the Tri-City Valley Cats.

On Tuesday night, Vader collected his sixth straight victory, all coming his last six starts. Vader retired the first 13 batters he faced before a double in the 5th inning. The right-hander improved to 7-1 on the year, tying the South Atlantic League lead for wins with Brady Lail and Nick Pivetta. Vader also low- ered his ERA to 3.09.

WHO'S HOT - JIMMY YACABONIS

Through his first 17 appearances, the Del- marva closer has yet to allow a run. Yacabo- nis is perfect 13-for-13 in save opportunities with a 1-0 record. In 20.0 innings, Yacabonis has struck out 26 batters.

WHO ELSE - TREY MANCINI

Mancini finally unleashed his first home run of the year with a deep blast in Lakewood. The first baseman collected seven RBIs in the first two games of the Lakewood series to take the team lead in RBIs with 30.
