PREVIEW: The Shorebirds fell to the Hagerstown Suns for the second straight night, this time by a final score of 8-5. Mike Yastrzemski hit a pair of late-inning home runs, but it was not enough in the comeback bid. Delmarva has now dropped to five games back in the Northern Division, set- ting up a must-win in the series finale to avoid a sweep.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Austin Voth will start the finale for the Suns on Wednesday evening. Voth will make his 11th start of the year, working with a 2-3 record and 2.49 ERA. Voth has faced Delmarva twice this year, going 1-1 with a victory last Wednesday. The right-hander split 2013 between the GCL, Auburn and Hagerstown. The Nationals selected Voth in the 5th round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of the University of Washington.

19TH SEASON: The 2014 season marks the 19th season of Shorebirds baseball on the Eastern Shore and 18th straight year as a Baltimore Orioles affiliate. The Shorebirds' first season was 1996 as a Montreal Expos farm team.

ORIOLES WATCH: The Baltimore Orioles scored six runs in the eighth inning to break a late tie in Arlington, defeating the Texas Rangers 8-3. Nelson Cruz homered in his return to his old stomping grounds, his 21st long ball of the year. Adam Jones also went yard, his seventh of the season. The O's are now 29-27, jumping ahead of the Yankees for second place behind Toronto in the AL East.

THE IRON IS HOT: 18 out of the 25 players on the Shorebirds active roster appeared for the Ab- erdeen IronBirds in 2013. The IronBirds put together an impressive season, making the playoffs for the first time in their 12-year franchise history. Aberdeen won the McNamara Division in the New York-Penn League with a 40-32 record. The IronBirds lost in the first round of the NYPL play- offs, losing 2 games to 0 against the Tri-City Valley Cats.

Yastrzemski, along with four other Shorebirds (Dosch, Harvey, Va- der and Yacabonis) was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game. Yastrzemski cur- rently leads the league in triples with 8, and out- field assists with 11. His two home runs on Tuesday night were the first multi-HR game for a Shorebirds this season.

WHO'S HOT - JIMMY YACABONIS

Through his first 17 appearances, the Del- marva closer has yet to allow a run. Yacabo- nis is perfect 13-for-13 in save opportunities with a 1-0 record. In 20.0 innings, Yacabonis has struck out 26 batters.

WHO ELSE - TREY MANCINI

After a power outage in the first two months of the season, Mancini has homered in two of his last four games. The first baseman has driven in 11 runs in his last 6 games, now with 34 RBIs on the year.
