Today's Preview: Coming off a historic night at Appalachian Power Park, the Intimidators (A, White Sox) will try to follow Thad Lowry's no-hitter by completing a sweep in West Virginia against the Power (A, Pirates) for the second time this season. Kannapolis swept a 3-game set at West Virginia April 21-23, and the Intimidators enter today's game winners of five of their last six games. Jordan Guerrero makes his first start of the season while the Power counter with Luis Heredia, who returns from the DL for this third start of the year.

Intimidating Starter: Jordan Guerrero, who turned 20 last Saturday, makes his first start of the season and 11th appearance for Kannapolis when he faces the Power for the second time in 2014. The southpaw is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA (1 ER/3 IP) with three strikeouts and a walk in two relief appearances against West Virginia, however he has not faced the Power since April 30. Guerrero is coming off of a relief win on his birthday in the second game of a May 31 doubleheader against Hagerstown, spinning 2.0 scoreless innings. He has not allowed a run in his last 8.0 innings, spanning four appearances, and he is 1-0 with a 0.90 ERA (1 ER/10 IP) in six road games this season. The Moorpark, Calif., native has struck out 22 batters while walking just three in 18.2 innings of work. Last season, he went 0-3 with a 4.26 ERA in five starts in his second season for Advanced Rookie Bristol.

Power Pitcher: Luis Heredia, 19, makes his third start of the season and third career start against the Intimidators. Heredia is returning from the DL today after making two start in early April. He took a loss April 6 at Lexington, allowing four runs on six hits in 5.0 innings, and left just pitches into his next outing, not officially facing a batter on April 12. Heredia, the Pirates No. 10 Prospect according to MLB.com, spent last season with West Virginia, going 7-3 with a 3.05 ERA in 14 games (13 starts). In two starts Kannapolis last season, he went 1-0 with a 1.13 ERA (1 ER/8 IP). The Pirates signed Heredia out of Mexico in 2010. Heredia made his professional debut at 16 years old with the GCL Pirates in 2011, going 1-2 with a 4.75 ERA in 12 games (11 starts). He followed that with a strong second season in 2012 with Short-Season State College, posting a 4-2 record and 2.71 ERA, 12th-lowest in the NYPL, in 14 starts as the youngest player in the league.

About Last Night: Thad Lowry spun a complete-game no-hitter to lead the Intimidators to a rain-shortened 3-0 win over West Virginia on Tuesday. Lowry, the White Sox fifth round pick in the June 2013 First-Year Player Draft, struck out five and walked two before rain cut short the game just before the top of the sixth. Kannapolis scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning when Jacob Morris doubled to drive in Danny Hayes and later scored on a Trey Michalczewski base hit. Hayes added a sac-fly in the fifth to score Hunter Jones.

No-Hitter History: Thad Lowry's complete-game no-hitter is the first for Kannapolis since Brian Miller tossed a 7-inning no-hitter to beat the Greensboro Bats on June 10, 2003, in the first game of a doubleheader. This is the fourth no-hitter in Intimidators history and just the second individual gem since the team became a White Sox affiliate in 2001. Last season, three Intimidators pitchers spun a combined no-hitter in the second game of a June 5 doubleheader at Hagerstown when Braulio Ortiz, Adam Lopez and Joe Dvorsky shut out the Suns in a 7-inning affair. On Aug. 20, 2010, starter Matt Wickswat worked 5.0 no-hit innings before Jake Petricka and Taylor Thomson each spun a hitless relief inning as Kannapolis no-hit the Crawdads in the second game of a doubleheader.

Ski's Streaks: Trey Michalczewski set a new career-long hitting streak by going 1-2 with an RBI-single on Tuesday. He has now hit safely in eight straight games. Michalczewski is batting .407 (11-27) since May 27. Last season, he had a 7-game hitting streak while with Advanced Rookie Bristol from July 19-26, 2013. Michalczewski is also on a season-long 10-game on-base streak. Last season, the third baseman reached base safely in a career-high 15 straight games with Bristol.
