Arizona Rattlers News Release

Phoenix, AZ - On the strength of his seven touchdown, 238 yard performance in the win over arch-rival San Jose, Rattlers Quarterback Sherdrick Bonner has been named the Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Week by the Arena Football League today. In the 58-41 victory on Sunday, Bonner threw for his 600th career touchdown pass, only the third man in AFL history to hit that mark. Earlier in the season, Bonner surpassed the 30, 000 passing yards mark as well.

A member of the 2003 All-AFL First Team, Bonner has led the Rattlers to a six game winning streak, thanks to his 37 touchdowns during the string. The eleven-year veteran out of Cal State Northridge was also named the Offensive Player of the Week following the Rattlers win over Dallas on April 18.

In addition to winning the League's award, Bonner was also named the Arena Football League Writers Association Player of the Week. The award is voted on by the members of the AFLWA.

Arizona travels to Detroit for a re-match with the Fury on Saturday night. Detroit defeated the Rattlers 48-31 in week two. For more information on the Rattlers, log on to www.AZRattlers.com.
