Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that forwards Paul Crowder and Josh Shalla have been recalled to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, the Cyclones have added forward Joe Basaraba to the roster.
Crowder, a fifth-year pro, ranks third on the Cyclones with 42 points (14g, 28a) in 59 games this season along with a plus-five rating. The 29-year-old will be making his second trip to the AHL this season; with the Admirals in 2013-14, Crowder has logged five games and has posted a pair of assists.
Shalla, Nashville's fourth-round selection in the 2011 NHL Draft, has been an offensive mainstay for the Cyclones over the past two seasons. He's accumulated 52 points (31g, 21a) in 59 games with Cincinnati - and ranks eighth on the team this season in overall offense. In 24 AHL games with Milwaukee this year, the 22-year-old has posted four points (2g, 2a) in 24 tilts.
Basaraba (BOSS-uh-rah-bah), will make his professional debut with the Cyclones after completing a four-year college career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The team captain this past season, Basaraba earned a career-high 18 points (8g, 10a) in 35 games - ranking seventh on the squad. The Florida Panthers third-round pick in 2010 skated in a total of 148 collegiate games with the Bulldogs and notched 56 points (28g, 28a) over a four-year span. The 21-year-old helped the program capture the NCAA Championship in 2010-11.
Cincinnati will embark on a three game road trip through the South Division, beginning this Wednesday night in Orlando, Florida. They'll meet the Solar Bears for the second and final time this season at 7:00pm, with pre game coverage beginning on the Cyclones Radio Network (CyclonesHockey.com, America One, Cyclones Mobile App) at 6;30pm.
