North Charleston, SC: The Road Warriors scored three times in the first period to begin a 5-1 win against South Carolina on Sunday afternoon.
Andrew Rowe began the scoring with a goal halfway through the first frame with a shot in the slot for his 26th of the season. Marc-Oliver Vallerand and Jordie Johnston combined for the assists. The trio teamed up for another goal just two minutes later. This time Vallerand scored for his 22nd of the year to give the Road Warriors a 2-0 lead. Josh Nicholls extended his point streak to 13 games with a deflection goal on a slap shot from Ryan Hegarty. The goal was Nicholls' 16th of the year to push the score to a 3-0 Greenville lead through one period of play.
Emerson Clark continued the scoring route with his fifth of the season 4:27 into the second period. Bretton Cameron initially shot the puck wide and Clark took the bank shot off the boards and quickly potted the fourth goal of the game. Lindsay Sparks also assisted. Josh Nicholls made it 5-0 with his second of the night assisted by Andrew Yogan and Vallerand. Yogan moved his point streak to seven games and Vallerand registered his third point of the game. South Carolina finally found the back of the net with less than three minutes left on a goal from Dale Mitchell. Mitchell scored his 18th in the slot to complete the scoring in the period and the game.
