
Severson and Baker Added to Komet Roster

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets announced today that forwards Ryan Severson and Ron Baker have agreed to terms and have been added to the 2003-04 roster.
Severson, 26, will be entering his 3rd season as a pro and as a Komet. The winger scored 13 goals and 30 points in 71 regular season games last season and appeared in all 12 Komet playoff games netting 3 goals and 8 points.
The Carlos, Minnesota native shared the Komet's 2001-02 Most Improved Player Award with Michel Massie and was named the Komet's 2001-02 Rookie of the Year.
Baker, 26, appeared in 33 games with Fort Wayne in his rookie season last year registering 4 assists and 5 points while accumulating 17 penalty minutes.
The winger started last season skating the first half of the year with York University (CIS/OUA) appearing in 12 games scoring 4 goals and 10 points.
Severson and Baker become and 12th and 13th returnees to defend Fort Wayne's 2003 Colonial Cup Championship. Also returning are Bobby Stewart, Sean Venedam, Michel Massie, Dustin Virag, Kevin Kotyluk, Adam Lewis, Colin Chaulk, Kevin Schmidt, Kelly Perrault, Kevin Bertram and Troy Neumeier. With the previously announced additions of forward Dan Price and goaltender Kevin St. Pierre, the Komets have a total of 15 players on the 2003-04 roster.
Komet Season Tickets.....2003-04 Komet season tickets are on sale at the Komet office at 1010 Memorial Wayne in Fort Wayne. Many great seats still available. Season tickets start at $185 for children, $265 for seniors and students, and $325 for adults in the Pepsi Zone. All season ticket packages include 2 exhibition games and the 2004 UHL All Star Game to be held in Fort Wayne Sunday, January 18. For information call the Komet office at (260) 483-0011.
In Exhibition.....the Komets have 3 exhibition games slated for the preseason. There will be 2 home exhibition games at the Memorial Coliseum as the Komets will host Port Huron Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7:35pm and then take on the visiting Kalamazoo Wings Friday, Oct. 17 at 8pm. The Komets travel to Kalamazoo for a final 2003-04 tuneup Saturday night, Oct. 18 at 7:30 at Wings Stadium. The regular season begins Friday, Oct. 24 as the Komets skate at Muskegon for the Fury's home opener. The Komet's return to Fort Wayne for their home opener and defense of the Colonial Cup Saturday, Oct. 25 against the Kalamazoo Wings.
Colonial Cup on tour Friday at Meijer.....Komet defenseman Kevin Schmidt will make an appearance with the Colonial Cup at the Meijer store on Maysville Road in Fort Wayne this Friday, Aug. 8 from 4:30pm-5:30pm. There will be photo opportunities with Schmidt and the Colonial Cup and fans will have a chance to win 4 tickets to the Komet's home opener Oct. 25 vs Kalamazoo.
