Trenton Devils News Release

Trenton, NJ - The Trenton Titan Professional Hockey Team announced today that they have acquired defensemen Ryan O'Keefe and Kerry Ellis-Toddington from Pensacola in exchange for center Tyler Beechey and defenseman Kam White.

O'Keefe appeared in 70 games last season (64 with Pensacola) netting a goal, 17 assists and 224 penalty minutes. He also appeared in all four of the Ice Pilots' playoff contests. Ellis-Toddington appeared in 24 games with Pensacola following a trade from Richmond. He notched six goals, 13 points and 25 penalty minutes with the Ice Pilots. Overall, he totaled eight goals, 22 assists and 45 penalty minutes. Ellis-Toddington added a goal in four post season games with the Ice Pilots.

"We are getting two quality players who will bring some energy to our lineup," stated Titans' Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Bill Armstrong. "We really liked Kerry (Ellis-Toddington) when he was in Richmond, and the fans will love Ryan (O'Keefe), who is a big, physical player."

Beechey tied for the team lead with 38 assists and was fifth among Titans' players with 46 points. He added a pair of goals in the opening game of the Northeast Division Semi-finals series against Atlantic City.

White leaves the Titans as the franchises' all-time leader in penalty minutes (842) over his four seasons. Last year he led the team with 241 penalty minutes and finished with two goals and nine assists. White appeared in all three post season contests totaling 18 penalty minutes.

With the uncertainty of the ECHL agreement with the Players Union, Head Coach Bill Armstrong assessed what was a very difficult decision.

"With questions regarding the veteran rule we had to make a very difficult decision in trading Kam White," stated Armstrong. "However, we are very fortunate to get a couple of quality young players who will contribute. I think this is a trade that will help the Trenton Titans."

Full season and partial ticket plans are on sale now by calling the Titans' ticket office at (609) 599-9500. The Titans begin "Five Years of Riveting Hockey" on Friday night October 17th at 7:30 pm against the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Bank Arena.
