Royals Reschedule Preseason Date

In a joint announcement, Ray Delia General Manager of the Reading Royals and Bob Cavalieri, General Manager of the SMG managed Sovereign Center in Reading, PA announced today that the Reading Royals pre season game originally scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2003 against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies has been moved to Friday, October 10, 2003 at 7:05 p.m. The Royals and Boardwalk Bullies agreed to change the date in order to make way for a major event scheduled at the Sovereign Center on Saturday, October 11, 2003.

"With SMG's leverage and the cooperation of the Reading Royals we have been able to land a major event for the Sovereign Center that is sure to electrify the entire community" said Bob Cavalieri. "We can't announce the details yet, but it will happen soon, so stay tuned!"

"We are thrilled to make this change in our preseason schedule to accommodate such an exciting event for the Sovereign Center and all of Berks County," commented Royals general manager Ray Delia. "Thanks to Dan Belisle and the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies for their flexibility in scheduling, thus allowing this change to occur so smoothly."

The Reading Royals third season opens on the road on Friday, October 17 against the Trenton Titans. Reading's home opener is slated for Saturday, October 18 against the expansion Texas Wildcatters.
