Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

Chattanooga continued their winning ways Wednesday night as they used a seven-run fourth inning to route the Smokies 7-1.

It was the Lookouts bats that hit the ground running and never looked back with the offense taking hold of the contest. Chattanooga rallied together tallying six hits, along with a trio of walks in the fourth. The hitting parade started with Stuart Fairchild slapping a ball to left field, then back to back walks from Jonathan India and Gavin LaValley loaded the bases.

Brantley Bell rung the Smokies bell, with a bases clearing double to left center to clear the bases to put the Lookouts up 3-0. The offensive production continued with Chris Okey netting a quality at-bat turning into a four-pitch walk. Then Calten Daal joined the hit party, doubling on a rocket to dead center scoring a pair of runs to extend the Chattanooga lead to 5-0.

The Lookouts didn't stop there, as Wendolyn Bautista also lent a helping hand with the bat as he singled to left tallying another run to make the score 6-0.

With the Chattanooga offensive threatening with a runner at second, Alfredo Rodriguez slapped a single up the middle to extend the Lookouts lead to 7-0.

It wasn't just the Lookouts bats who stole the show, the Chattanooga arms were lights out with RHP Wendolyn Bautista notching his first win at the Double-A level. Bautista netted a quality start going six scoreless innings deep, allowing five hits, while striking out three.

With the Lookouts holding on to a strong 7-1 lead, former big-leaguer Brandon Finnegan shut the door in the ninth inning as he struck out the side.

The Lookouts are back in action tomorrow, ready to open a five-game road set with Northern Division rival Montgomery Biscuits with a first pitch at 7:35 ET.
