PEARL, MS - The Mississippi Braves begin the month of August and welcome the Chicago Cubs affiliate Tennessee Smokies to Trustmark Park for a five-game series, Aug. 1-5. The homestand includes Mississippi State Night, Thirsty Thursday, Cowbell Sticker and Chris Maloney "Hammer" Bobblehead Giveaway; the largest Fireworks Show in Trustmark Park History, Mugshots FamilyFest Sunday and SportClips Military Monday.

What's Chop'n:

The M-Braves will play 21 of their final 31 games in 2019 at home during August and September. The Braves will welcome three opponents that not have not yet visited Trustmark Park this season: Smokies (Cubs), Barons (White Sox) and Lookouts (Reds). The M-Braves have not played Tennessee since the first series of the season, April 4-8, at Smokies Stadium. The final game of that series on April 9 was canceled due to rain.

The M-Braves are only 17,083 fans away from $3 million fans to Trustmark Park since the club opened its gates in Pearl in 2015. Who to Watch:

The Tennessee Smokies roster features four of the Chicago Cubs' top 30 prospects: INF Nico Hoerner (1), RHP Cory Abbott (17), RHP Alex Lange (23), RHP Oscar De La Cruz (24),

The M-Braves roster has nine of the Atlanta Braves' top 30 prospects: OF Cristian Pache (1), OF Drew Waters (2), RHP Ian Anderson (3), LHP Kyle Muller (8), C William Contreras (8), OF Greyson Jenista (14), LHP Tucker Davidson (16), RHP Jasseel De La Cruz (17), OF Trey Harris (22).

Pache (11), Waters (27), Anderson (34) and Hoerner (50) are all ranked among the MLB Top 50 Prospects List. Prospect rankings according to MLBPipeline.com

Did You Know? In December 2008, Hall of Famer and former Chicago Cubs All-Star second baseman Ryne Sandberg was named manager for the 2009 season. Sandberg led the Smokies to a second-half Southern League North Division crown and a 3-1 divisional playoff series win over the Huntsville Stars. The Smokies would eventually fall 3-games-to-1 to the Jacksonville Suns for the 2009 Southern League Championship.

Chris Maloney Bobblehead Giveaway - The first 1,000 fans will receive a Chris Maloney Bobblehead doll to celebrate the Jackson native and M-Braves manager.

Trustmark Dash For Cash - $1,000 in cash will be spread out in the outfield, and ten lucky fans will have 1 minute to collect as much cash as possible.

Kids Run The Bases - After each Friday and Sunday home game, kids 14-and-under are invited to run the bases after the game.

Free Fist Bump - As part of our Fan Friday promotion, every fan coming through the gates will receive a FREE FIST BUMP from an M-Braves representative.
