JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to this afternoon's game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville at 7:05 p.m.
Outfielder Corey Bird has been placed on Jacksonville's injured list, retroactive to July 30. Bird has played in 95 games for Jacksonville this season, hitting .232 with three home runs and 29 RBI.
The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 24 active players, plus Pablo Lopez on his major league rehab assignment, and a revised roster is attached.
The Jumbo Shrimp wrap up their series with Pensacola in Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. contest from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. RHP Edward Cabrera (3-1, 3.21 ERA) starts for Jacksonville against Blue Wahoos LHP Charlie Barnes (2-2, 3.05 ERA). Coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on MiLB.tv, Sunny 102.3 FM, TuneIn and jaxshrimp.com.
