
Seven Komets named All-Stars

Fort Wayne, IN --- The United Hockey League announced Wednesday the official rosters for the 2007 UHL All-Star Classic. Six Komet players were named All-Stars and will skate for the Western Conference coached by Komet skipper Pat Bingham. Bingham earned the honor as All-Star Coach of the Western Conference after registering the best winning percentage of the Western Conference at the end of games played Dec. 31.
Komet players announced as 2007 UHL All-Stars were goaltender Kevin St. Pierre, defensemen Guy Dupuis and Mario Larocque, and forwards Bruce Richardson (C), Jonathan Goodwin (RW) and J.C. Ruid (C). Richardson is injured and will not play in the game. Komet center Martin Gascon will take his spot on the roster.
The official rosters for the Western and Eastern conferences are comprised of 20 players (18 skaters and 2 goaltenders) and can be seen at the official website of the UHL www.theuhl.com .
Fort Wayne will host the 2007 All-Star Gala Wednesday, Jan. 17 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum beginning with a player's skills competition at 7pm. Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office. Fans can also charge by phone at 260-424-1811.
Head Coach Pat Bingham.....is in his first year as Komet head coach. Skated 7 seasons as a pro defenseman before starting his coaching career in 1999 with Huntsville CHL. Guided the UHL Ashville Smoke to the 2001 Colonial Cup Finals. Honored with the ECHL's 2003-04 Coach of the Year award after leading Wheeling to their best season ever.
Goaltender Kevin St. Pierre.....is in his 12th pro season, 6th UHL and 4th with the Komets. Owns numerous records including the Komet franchise and UHL league records for shutouts with 23 UHL and 20 with the Komets. Selected 203-04 UHL Best Goaltender and named UHL MVP after backstopping the Komets to their second consecutive Tarry Cup in 2004.
Defenseman Guy Dupuis.....in his 17th pro season, 10th with the Komets and 2nd in the UHL as a Komet. Has now been named a UHL All-Star in each of his 3 seasons in the UHL. Leads the Komets with 23 assists and is second with 28 points.
Defenseman Mario Larocque.....is in his 9th pro season, 3rd in the UHL and first with the Komets. Leads UHL defensemen with 10 goals.
Center Bruce Richardson.....is in his 10th pro season, 3rd in the UHL and first with the Komets. Led Danbury in 2004-05 with 62 assists and 87 points. Unfortunately, due to injury, will not be able to appear in the 2007 UHL All-Star Game.
Center Martin Gascon.....is in his rookie season as a pro. Named UHL Player of the Week for week ending 11/19/06. Leads all Komet rookies with 7 goals, 14 assists and 21 points. Will replace Komet Bruce Richardson on the UHL Western Conference roster.
Center J.C. Ruid.....is in his 9th pro season, 5th in the UHL and first with the Komets. Was named to the 2005 UHL All-Star team representing Rockford. Named UHL Player of the Week for week of 12/4/06.
Right Wing Jonathan Goodwin....is in his 3rd pro year and 3rd year with the Komets. Was also selected to the 2005 UHL All-Star team. Led the Komets in 2005-06 with 32 goals.
