
UHL Names Four Mallards to All-Star Squad

Moline, IL-The United Hockey League announced today the rosters for the 2007 UHL All-Star Classic. Four Mallards forwards were selected to play on the Western Conference Team. Mallards veterans Don Parsons and Chad Woollard will represent the team along with rookies Brett Pilkington and Justin Chwedoruk.
Parsons finished 2006 as the leading goal scorer in the UHL. The 14th-year forward has 25 goals with 10 assists for a team-leading 35 points. He ranks seventh in the league in points. In December, Parsons lead the league with 16 goals and ranked second in scoring with 21 points.
Woollard is tied for eighth in scoring in the UHL with 33 points. He leads the Mallards in assists with 21 and has also added 12 goals. This marks the second consecutive trip to the UHL All-Star Classic for the Durham, Ontario native.
Chwedoruk ranks third amongst UHL rookies in scoring with 29 points on nine goals and 20 assists. He is second amongst first-year UHLers in assists. Chwedoruk recorded 19 points (seven goals and 12 assists) in 14 games during the month of December.
Pilkington has 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points on the season. He is tied for third in scoring amongst UHL rookies and ranks fifth in points by a rookie. Pilkington was acquired by Quad City from Kalamazoo on November 20th with defenseman Mathieu Wathier in exchange for center Glenn Detulleo. In 18 games since joining the team, the Calgary, Alberta native has 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists.
The UHL All-Star Classic will be played in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 17th. The Western Conference All-Stars will be composed of players from UHL teams in Bloomington, Chicago, Fort Wayne, Quad City and Rockford. The Eastern Conference All-Stars will feature players from Elmira, Flint, Kalamazoo, Muskegon and Port Huron.
The Mallards are home on Friday night to host the Kalamazoo Wings. Game time is 7:00 p.m. The Mallards opening home stand of 2007 continues on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. vs. Fort Wayne.
