Asheville Tourists News Release

Asheville, NC--Antonio Senzatela had to miss his last scheduled start but he was in a Tourists uniform on Saturday night and showed no signs of rust. The Asheville Tourists right-hander ran his record on the season to 9-1 by pitching five strong innings against the Lexington Legends. A balanced offensive attack along with some big innings helped Asheville cruise to a 9-2 victory at McCormick Field.

The Legends scored the game's first run in third. They loaded the bases against Senzatela with just one out, but only managed a sacrifice fly as the Valencia, Venezuela native worked out of the jam.

Asheville responded in the fourth. The Tourists plated four runs on five hits. Ryan McMahon plated the first with an RBI double down the first base line. Correlle Prime then knocked in a run with an RBI single. After Jordan Patterson brought home the third run on an RBI groundout, Wilfredo Rodriguez capped the rally with a run-scoring double to left.

The Legends managed one in the top of the sixth, but again the home team answered. In the bottom of the sixth, Patterson scored McMahon with an RBI double and Rodriguez added a sacrifice fly. Prime also crossed the plate in the inning on a wild pitch.

The Tourists added two more in the bottom of the eighth. Max White singled with two outs and raced all the way around to score on Emerson Jimenez's double to left-center. The next batter, David Dahl, doubled home Jimenez.

Senzatela's final line read five innings pitched, two hits, one run, and a pair of strikeouts. Matt Carasiti tossed two innings and recorded four strikeouts. Trent Daniel and Carlos Estevez each added a scoreless inning in relief.

The Tourists now set their sights on a sweep with Sunday's series finale against the Legends set for 2:05pm.
