Comeback Falls Short in Loss at Delmarva

SALISBURY, MD - Hunter Harvey stuck out eight and allowed two runs over six innings as Delmarva topped the BlueClaws 6-3 on Saturday night at Perdue Stadium.

Shorebirds left-hander Donny Hart struck out Dylan Cozens looking on a 2-2 slider with the bases loaded to end the game and give Delmarva their second straight win in the three-game series.

Trailing 6-2 entering the 9th inning, Carlos Tocci's RBI double made it 6-3 and after Austin Urban walked Andrew Pullin and hit Willians Astudillo, Cozens came up as the go-ahead run, but Hart got him looking to preserve the win.

Delmarva (9-8/46-39) is now 10-4 agianst the BlueClaws (5-12/32-54) this year.

Jared Breen's two-run single with two outs in the 6th inning put Delmarva up 4-2 off Jon Prosinski (2-2) and the BlueClaws. Delmarva added a run on a throwing error by BlueClaws third baseman Mitch Walding as part of a three-run 6th inning that gave them the lead for good.

Mitch Walding and Carlos Tocci each had two doubles for the BlueClaws while Andrew Pullin had a hit and drew three walks. Pullin has hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games.

Harvey (6-4) improved to 3-0 against the BlueClaws. He's allowed one earned run (three total) in 19 innings against Lakewood. Prosinski gave up five runs/four earned in 5.2 innings and took the loss.

The series concludes on Sunday at 5:05 pm. RHP Yacksel Rios (2-0, 3.18) opposes RHP Luc Rennie (3-6, 5.93).
