(Greensboro, NC)- The West Virginia Power topped the Greensboro Grasshoppers 5-0 to snap a six-game losing skid on Saturday night at NewBridge Bank Park. Cody Dickson tossed seven scoreless innings to help the Power shutdown the Grasshoppers.

The Power got on the board first with an RBI groundout off the bat of Danny Collins the second. JaCoby Jones pushed the advantage to two with a solo blast to right.

West Virginia was not done there. The Power posted another tally in the fifth with an RBI single from Elvis Escobar before two more to pull away when Erich Weiss plated JaCoby Jones with an RBI base knock and Francisco Diaz plated a run on a sacrifice fly.

Cody Dickson (4-8) earned the win in his best outing of the season with seven scoreless innings, scattering four hits with seven strikeouts. Ryan Newell (8-6) was charged with the loss. JaCoby Jones blasted his 11th home run of the season and second in as many games in the win.

West Virginia visits the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Sunday, July 6, at NewBridge Bank Park. Luis Heredia will start against the Grasshoppers Jarlin Garcia.
