Sensley's Multi-Homer Game Leads Otters to Series-Opening Win

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters returned home to Bosse Field Tuesday with a 7-3 series-opening win against the Lake Erie Crushers, getting a multi-homer game from Steven Sensley.
Sensley started the night's scoring in the bottom of the second inning with his first home run to left field, giving the Otters a 1-0 lead.
Lake Erie quickly evened things up in the fourth with a solo home run of their own off the bat of right fielder Jackson Valera.
In the bottom half of the fourth, Sensley struck a second time with a second solo home run that gave Evansville the lead once again.
The 2-1 score stayed dormant until the sixth inning when the Otters' bats finally came alive. Back-to-back walks from third baseman Gary Mattis and designated hitter Zach Biermann set the table for a two-out, two-run single from left fielder Jeffery Baez.
Catcher Dakota Phillips added one more for the Otters in the sixth, his RBI single taking Evansville's advantage to 5-1.
The Crushers found home once more in the seventh, but just enough to bring Lake Erie within three.
Evansville snagged another pair of insurance runs in the seventh, both scoring on wild pitches following hit-by-pitches. After seven, the Otters led 7-2.
The final Crusher run came in the top half of the ninth, where Lake Erie earned one from Brady Tedesco on an RBI double for second baseman Bryant Flete.
Parker Brahms earned the win, his second of the season - this one in convincing fashion. He allowed just one run on three hits across six full innings.
The loss fell on Julio Vivas, who gave up two runs on three hits in his five full innings.
The Otters left a season-high 13 runners on base while Lake Erie left 10 of their own on base.
The two sides continue their three-game set on Wednesday with a 12:05 p.m. first pitch for a Senior Connection Wednesday Day Game. Gates open at Bosse Field at 11:00 a.m.
The Evansville Otters are the 2006 and 2016 Frontier League champions.
