Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday afternoon as the pitching staff struggled to find the strike zone in a 6-2 loss at Bowie. The loss was the only defeat on the Senators six-game roadtrip.
Bowie jumped on Senators' starter Brian Dupra early with four runs in the first inning. Dupra was not able to get an out in the fourth inning before being removed after allowing five runs on five hits and five walks. Colin Bates replaced Dupra and induced a run scoring double play to make it 5-0, Baysox. Bates also struggled with his control as he walked three batters in three innings, including a bases-loaded walk in the sixth that made it 6-1. Bates had walked three batters in 38.1 innings in 2014 before Sunday's appearance. Tyler Herron was able to pitch a scoreless seventh and eighth inning for the Sens.
The Senators were not able to get on the board until the top of the sixth when Caleb Ramsey and Kevin Keyes reached base ahead of Quincy Latimore (3-for-3, RBI), who dumped a bloop single into center to score Ramsey. Cutter Dykstra led off the eighth inning with his 14th double of the year and was later driven in on an RBI single by Jason Martinson (2-for-4, RBI). Michael Taylor's hit streak came to an end at 10 games after an 0-for-4 day.
Tomorrow is the final off day for the Senators until the All-Star break. The Senators resume play on Tuesday when they will host the New Britain Rock Cats at Metro Bank Park. James Simmons gets the ball for Harrisburg, while New Britain sends Tyler Duffey to the hill for a 7:00 p.m. start. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
The Senators box office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours. Tickets are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
