Senators Tripped up despite Garcia's Effort

Luis Garcia tripled, singled and scored two runs but it wasn't enough in the Senators 3-2 loss to Richmond Sunday afternoon at FNB Field. Richmond scored single runs in the second, seventh and eighth innings then held off the Sens late rally attempts. The Sens scored their first run in the seventh inning on three straight hits but didn't score further even with runners on first and third with no outs. It was the first game this series that neither team committed an error.

On Capitol Hill

Kevin McGowan started and pitched six solid innings. He allowed a single run in the second and a run in the fourth. He retired the side in order in the first and third innings.

Jhonatan German made his Double-A debut and went two innings, allowing an unearned run.

Kyle Barraclough finished with striking out the side in the ninth inning.

With the Gavel

Luis Garcia had two hits including a triple and scored both Sens runs.

Ian Sagdal had two hits and drove in a run.

The Sens had six hits and went 1-for-4 with runners in scoring position.

Filibusters

- Harrisburg leads the season series against Richmond 8-5

- It was the first series loss to Richmond this season.

- T.J. River and Jhonatan German became the 58 and 59 players to appear in a game for the Sens this season.
