Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators split a doubleheader on Saturday night with the Altoona Curve taking game one, 9-1, while the Senators won game two, 3-2, in front of 5,078 fans at Metro Bank Park.

Altoona was able to get to the Senators' John Simms in the first game by scoring seven runs in four innings. Sam Runion made his Senators debut by allowing two runs in three innings of relief. Meanwhile, the only Senators tally came from a sacrifice fly off the bat of Ricky Hague, which scored Jose Lozada (2-for-3)

In game two, Paolo Espino was outstanding for the Senators. The righty tied a Senators season-high with nine strikeouts while limiting Altoona to two runs in 6.1 innings of work. All-star Colin Bates finished off the win for the Sens, picking up his first save of the season by stranding the game-tying run at third base. Matt Skole's two-run, line drive home run pushed Harrisburg in front with nobody out in the fourth inning. Later in the inning, Adrian Sanchez drove home Quincy Latimore with a sacrifice fly for the Senators third run.

Game four of the five-game set starts tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. On the mound for Harrisburg is righty, James Simmons. Altoona will counter with lefty, Zack Dodson.
