Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Senators snapped their three-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over New Hampshire. For the second straight night the Sens received an outstanding effort from their starting pitcher but unlike Monday night, Cory VanAllen earned a win on Tuesday night. VanAllen earned his first win with the Senators since May 17, 2008. Van Allen combined with Josh Wilkie and Jack Spradlin to throw the third combined shut-out of the season for the Sens.

VanAllen didn't strike out a batter and allowed just six hits. Josh Wilkie struck out five batters in 2.1 innings and Spradlin earned his first save by retiring the final two batters of the game.

The Sens offense didn't do much, but it did enough, scoring three runs in the sixth inning. With one out, Michael Martinez walked and then Leonard Davis singled off of Fisher Cat starter Brandon Magee. Edgardo Baez followed with a triple driving in both runs. Baez then scored on a wild pitch.

Martinez and Baez each had two hits in the win.

The third game of the four-game series is Wednesday night at 7:00pm.
