New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release


Harrisburg, PA---Brad Emaus and Brian Dopirak doubled to open the top of the ninth inning, but Harrisburg relievers Josh Wilkie and Jack Spradlin were able to shut down the Fisher Cats and preserve a 3-0 win for Harrisburg on Tuesday night at Metro Bank Park.

Harrisburg (14-34) scored its three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning off losing pitcher Brandon Magee (2-3). Michael Martinez (2-for-3, R) walked and was followed by Leonard Davis, who singled. Egardo Baez (2-for-4) tripled in both runners to make it 2-0. Baez scored on a wild pitch for the third Senators run.

New Hampshire (26-27) had its best chance to score in the top of the ninth inning. Emaus doubled to start the frame. Dopirak (2-for-4, 2B) hit a long fly to left which fell for a hit. Emaus held up thinking it might be caught and stopped at third. Nick Gorneault (2-for-4) hit a grounder to third and Harrisburg threw home to get Emaus for the first out. Jack Spradlin then struck out Adam Calderone and got Al Quintana to line out to short to end the game.

Harrisburg starter Cory VanAllen (1-3) picked up the win, working six shutout innings. He allowed four hits, walked two and did not strike out a batter.

Magee (2-3) allowed three runs in six innings, giving up five hits, walking one and striking out three. Adrian Martin provided two scoreless innings in relief for the Fisher Cats.

The Fisher Cats continue the road trip Wednesday night in Harrisburg. LHP Luis Perez (4-4, 3.63) starts for New Hampshire. The Senators will counter with RHP Zack Segovia (0-2, 3.76). Game time is 7:00pm and radio coverage begins at 6:45pm with the BayRing Pre-Game Show on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman.

New Hampshire returns home on Friday, June 5 to begin a three-game series with Reading.
