Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators have announced that OF Michael Daniel has been placed on the disabled list and OF Ricardo Nanita has joined the Senators from the Mexican League.

Nanita was selected by the Nationals in the Rule 5 draft on 12/11/08 from the Chicago White Sox. He spent the past three seasons in Birmingham (AA) with the Sox. This year, he was on loan to the Mexican League where he played for two different teams, Monterrey and Veracruz. He batted a combined .305 with 1 HR and 11 RBIs. Last year with Birmingham he batted .286 with 9 HR and 51 RBIs.

Daniel injured his right hamstring going from first to third on a single by Ofilio Castro in the third inning on Sunday at Bowie. He was batting .268 with 3 HR and 14 RBIs. Daniel was the only Senator player last year that was on the active roster all season long.

With these moves, the Senators roster is at 24 active players plus five players on the disabled list.
