Senators Record Now Even after Loos to Portland

The Portland Sea Dogs scored a run in the first and four more in the second to cruise to a 7-1 win over the Senators in front of 5,384 fans at FNB Field Tuesday night. The Senators scored their lone run in the eighth inning on a bases loaded single by Jake Alu. Portland improved to 2-2 with the win while the Sens fell to 2-2 with the loss.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Steven Fuentes started and took the loss going four innings and allowing six runs while striking out five. Fuentes also walked four while facing 21 batters. Dakody Clemmer was next, tossing a scoreless frame in his 2022 debut. Andrew Lee tossed three strong innings allowing three hits and a run. Gerardo Carrillo pitched the ninth and struck out two batters while allowing a single.

WITH THE GAVEL

Jake Alu drove in the Senators lone run with a rbi single in the eighth inning. Gilbert Lara tripled in the ninth but was thrown out at home on the same play. Jackson Cluff had his first two hits of the season.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators committed a season-high four errors in the game, but they led to only one earned run. Harrisburg stranded nine runners and went just 2-8 with runners in scoring position.

The Senators and Portland Sea Dogs play game two of their six-game series Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 12:45 p.m.
