Senators Make Roster Changes

The Harrisburg Senators announced today that two pitcher have been moved to Brevard County while another starter has been added to the rotation. Pitchers Justin Echols and Wilfredo Rodriguez have been sent to the single-A Manatees. Former major leaguer Corey Thurman joins the Senators.

Echols was used as both a starter and reliever in his time with Harrisburg as he made 10 starts in 18 appearances. In 63.1 innings of work, Echols had a 3-7 record and a 7.67 ERA. Echols allowed 83 hits, 55 runs, 39 walks and 56 strikeouts.

Rodriguez appeared in just four games with Harrisburg and worked 8.1 innings with an 0-1 record and a 5.40 ERA. He allowed 11 hits, 5 runs, 3 strikeouts and 8 walks.

Thurman, who has appeared in 49 games with Toronto, joins the Senators from Potomac where he was playing with Cincinnati's single-A club. In five games, Thurman made 3 starts with a 1-2 record and a 1.62 ERA. He worked a total of 22.1 innings and allowed just 4 earned runs with 4 walks and 21 strikeouts. The Senators roster stands at 22 active players. That is one below the limit allowed by the Eastern League.
