Senators Held Hitless by Richmond in 2-0 Loss

Four Richmond hurlers combined to no-hit the Senators Thursday night in the Sens 2-0 loss to Richmond. The game was a pitchers duel for the first three innings as starters Sterling Sharp for the Senators and Michael Frisbee for Richmond combined to retire the first 19 batters of the game. The first hit of the game was a home run by Vince Fernandez for Richmond with one out in the fourth inning.

On Capitol Hill

Sterling Sharp pitched the first six innings, retiring the first ten batters he faced before allowing a home run to Nick Fernandez in the fourth inning. Sharp worked into and out of trouble in the sixth, finishing allowing two runs, just one earned, on one hit. Jhonatan German, Jhon Romero and Alberto Baldonado combined to shut out Richmond in the final three frames.

With the Gavel

Jackson Cluff was the only batter to reach base when he reached on a walk and a hit batter.

Filibusters

Harrisburg was last no-hit on July 16, 2019 when Michael Baumann tossed one for the Bowie Baysox. Cody Wilson flashed a sensational glove with a terrific catch at the fence in the eighth inning.

The Senators play game four of their six-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels Friday night at 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:50 p.m.
