Senators Fall in Doubleheader to Erie SeaWolves

The Harrisburg Senators dropped both games of their doubleheader against the Erie SeaWolves Thursday evening at FNB Field. In game one, the SeaWolves scored three runs to open the game in the first inning, and another three in the seventh inning, while the Senators could only score single runs in the first and fourth innings. In game two, the SeaWolves scored all four runs in the second inning as they shutout the Senators, holding them to just three hits.

THE BIG PLAY

Game one: In the top of the seventh inning, with Erie leading 3-2, Jake Holton put the game on ice with a three-run home run to make it a 6-2 game.

Game two: With two outs in the second inning, Christian Molfetta hit a 3-2 pitch over the right field wall to open the scoring and put Erie on top 3-0.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators were held to just seven hits combined across both games... Game two is the third time the Senators have been shut out this season... Andrew Pinckney's home run in game one is his second of the season... Daison Acosta tossed 1.1 hitless innings and Ty Tice threw one scoreless frame in relief in game two.

ON THE DOCKET

The Senators and Erie SeaWolves play game five of their seven-game series Friday beginning at 7:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on 1400am, 96.5 FM & 95.3 FM, Sports Radio Harrisburg, beginning at 6:45 p.m.
