Senators Bow to Portland in 10 Innings

The Portland Sea Dogs topped the Senators 4-3 in 10 innings Thursday night. Harrisburg tallied two runs in the second, but Portland tied the game with single runs in the third and sixth innings. The Sea Dogs scored twice in the tenth then hung on for the win. The Senators could only manage to score their placed runner in the 10th inning.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Ronald Herrera started and pitched six sharp innings. He allowed a couple run on four hits. He struck out seven while tossing 90 pitches in the game. Matt Cronin followed and pitched two scoreless frames with three strikeouts. Ramon Santos was the tough luck loser, allowing two runs, one earned, in the tenth inning. He struck out four in two innings of work and allowed two hits.

WITH THE GAVEL

Justin Connell had two hits, an RBI and scored a run. Jake Alu had two hits and drove in two runs.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators committed just one error, a throwing error in the tenth inning. The Senators stranded four runners and went 2-9 with runners in scoring position. Harrisburg dropped to 3-3 while Portland improved to 3-3.

The Senators and Portland Sea Dogs play game four of their six-game series Friday at 7:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:45 p.m.
