ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
The SeaWolves wrap up their four-game series with the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) tonight at Jerry Uht Park. Tonight marks the last home game for the 'Wolves before the Eastern League All-Star game. The Aeros have taken the first three games of the series and the 'Wolves look to avoid a four-game sweep tonight. The three-game winning streak for Akron against Erie marks the first time in the season series where one opponent has taken more than two-in-a-row. The 'Wolves are looking to avoid their second four-game losing skid of the season. Erie has dropped three in a row on three occasions in 2007. The Aeros have now won six in a row and they currently lead the 'Wolves by 5.5 games in the Southern Division. The Aeros are the top team in the league with a 51-31 record; they are also a league-best 20-games over .500. By virtue of an Altoona loss last night to Bowie, the 'Wolves still have a 3.5 game lead over the third place Curve in the division...RHP Eddie Bonine makes his 15th start of the season tonight for the 'Wolves. Bonine has won back-to-back outings against Trenton and Bowie (Complete game, 5 inn. - game suspended due to rain). Bonine hasn't allowed a walk in his last three outings. Bonine is making his fifth start of the season against the Aeros. He is 2-1 with a no-decision against Akron..Leftie Scott Lewis makes his fifth start of the season against the 'Wolves. He has a record of 0-2 with two no-decisions in his previous four starts with an ERA of 4.32.
