(Trenton, NJ)- Joba Chamberlain collected a career-high 12 strikeouts over six shutuout innings to help the Trenton Thunder to a 2-0 win over Harrisburg and a four-game sweep of the series. Trenton pitching held the Senators to three runs in the four games.

Chamberlain, who tied his career-high with 10 strikeouts in his last start, began the night by striking out the side in the 1st Inning, also doing that feat in the 3rd Inning. Harrisburg (30-55) got four singles over him in the game, but only had two runners reach 2nd Base. The Thunder (51-31) took a 1-0 lead off Senators starter Collin Balester in the 2nd Inning with a solo homer by DH Juan Miranda, his first since joining Trenton. The lead went to 2-0 in the 3rd Inning as 3B Aarom Baldiris doubled to start the frame and scored on a fielder's choice by SS Alberto Gonzalez. Balester (2-7) took the loss allowing just two runs and three hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out six.

Harrisburg threatened in the 9th Inning, loading the bases with one out against Tim Lavigne, but Senators SS Seth Bynum hit into a doubleplay that end the game and got Lavigne his 4th save.

Trenton starts a series with Altoona on Thursday at 7:05 PM. Brett Smith (6-4, 2.77) starts for the Thunder against Altoona's Michael Crotta, who is making his Double-A debut.

Thunder Bolts - The shutout was the 12th of the season for Trenton, which leads the Eastern League. It was also the first shutout for Trenton since June 15th.
