ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION... Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their third consecutive win as they take on the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins) in the middle game of a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the âWolves took down the âCats 7-2 behind a complete game from starter Jonah Nickerson to win their second straight game. The complete game by Nickerson helped to rest a heavily worked bullpen. In the last three days, the only relief pitcher to throw is Brendan Wise who tossed the final two innings of Erie's win on Sunday against Reading...The win, coupled with losses by Akron and Reading brings the âWolves to eight games out of first and a half game behind the wild card leading Phillies. Erie is still a half game ahead of fourth place Bowie...Erie is the top home team in the Eastern League with a 39-18 record and a .684 winning percentage at "The Uht." Last night's win improved the âWolves to 18-7 against Northern Division opponents. Erie is in a stretch of 15 consecutive games to wrap up the Northern Division portion of the schedule...Michael Bertram is hitting .409 (9x22) with two home runs in seven RBI in six games with Erie...Casper Wells is hitting .343 (12x35) with four home runs and eight RBI over his last 10 games...Righty Thad Weber takes the mound for the âWolves making his ninth start of the season. Weber is coming off his roughest outing of the season giving up six runs on six hits in just 2/3 of an inning against Akron. It was the shortest outing for a SeaWolves starting pitcher this season.
