Binghamton scored three runs in the first inning and made those stand up in a 4-2 win over the Sens on Wednesday night. Aaron Thompson made his first start for the Senators after being acquired from the Marlins for Nick Johnson and he went five innings allowing the three runs.

The Sens had trouble putting the ball in play Wednesday night as they struck out a season high 16 times and had just six hits. They had more than one runner on base at the same time just once in the game, in the third inning, but failed to score. They loaded the bases in the third but came up empty.

In the last of the first, Joel Guzman doubled in Ofilio Castro to cut the lead to 3-1. In the 5th inning, Bill Rhinehart hit a solo home run to cut the lead down to 3-2.

The B-Mets tacked on a run in the eighth inning and the final six batters were retired by the B-Mets pitching staff.

Castro had three hits in the loss. Sean Rooney had his eight-game hitting streak snapped.

The final game of the series is Thursday night at 7:00pm with RH Erik Arnesen on the mound for the Sens.
