Kent, WA - The Everett Silvertips were unable to rally from a three goal deficit Saturday night losing to the Seattle Thunderbirds, 3-2. Tyler Maxwell led the Silvertips in the second and third periods with a goal in each frame, but Everett was unable to tie the game before the end of regulation. Thomas Heemskerk stopped 31 of 34 in a losing effort while Calvin Pickard grabbed his ninth win of the year with a 26 save performance. Seattle came out to a hot start by putting up a three goal first period. Prab Rai led the scoring charge with his 18th and 19th goals of the season, the first of which coming at 6:19 with assists to Charles Wells and Lindsay Nielsen. Rai's second of the night came on the power play at 11:38 to give Seattle a 2-0 lead. Brendan Rouse bumped Seattle's lead to three with his fourth of the season at 18:38 on the power play, rounding out the scoring for the first period.

Maxwell got Everett on the board at 3:11 of the second period. His 18th goal of the year came from a shot from the left wing hash marks that glanced off a Thunderbirds defenseman and into the net.

Maxwell brought the Silvertips within one goal at 14:22 of the third period on the power play. Maxwell took the puck from the top of the left circle and snapped it past Pickard to make the score 3-2 Seattle. Everett was unable to find the back of the net before the final horn, giving the Thunderbirds a 3-2 victory.

This brings the ‘Tips record to 16-11-1-0 with 33 points in 28 games played. Everett heads back to Comcast Arena for a three game home stand starting this Tuesday with a match-up against the Portland Winterhawks at 7:05.
