Season Tickets Continue to Sell

Brandon, Manitoba - The 2010-11 Western Hockey League season may be underway but western Manitoba hockey fans continue to take advantage of the most affordable Season Ticket in all of Canadian Major Junior hockey.
Thursday afternoon, the Brandon Wheat Kings announced that 3,020 season tickets have been purchased. That's close to one hundred since the WHL club kicked off the regular season last Friday night at Westman Place.
This marks the second straight season that the Wheat Kings have surpassed the 3,000 mark in season tickets. Over 3,600 were sold last winter as the club prepared to play host to the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup.
In 2008-09, the hockey club sold what was then a franchise high 2,780.
To order 2010-11 Season Tickets, which remain the lowest in the WHL at $325 for adults ($9 per game and a saving of $10 off regular admission price) and $175 for youth (18 and under), fans are encouraged to visit the Wheat Kings' office or call 726-3535.
In addition to Season Tickets, the hockey club is again offering a 36-game Exchange Coupon Flex Pack for $399.
On the ice, the Wheat Kings will put a season opening 3-game win streak on the line Friday night at Westman Place when the 2-0-0 Saskatoon Blades pay their first visit of the young campaign. After sweeping the Regina Pats in a weekend home and home series, the Wheat Kings knocked off the Warriors 5-2 in Moose Jaw on Wednesday night.
Tickets to Friday's game are on sale now at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca The first 2,500 fans in attendance Friday will receive a 2010-11 Wheat Kings' Fridge Magnet Schedule, courtesy of Manitoba Hydro.
