Calgary, AB - The 2009-10 Western Hockey League regular season enters its second weekend of play with 21 games on the schedule for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
In Medicine Hat, AB, Tigers fans are encouraged to help the Medicine Hat Food Bank Score a Hat Trick when the team hosts the Red Deer Rebels on Friday night. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the game with the chance of winning a team-signed replica jersey or a Dallas Stars jersey signed by former Tigers coach and general manager Will Desjardins.
In Prince George, B.C., Friday night is the Pink Power Play Match when the Cougars take on the visiting Vancouver Giants for the team's home opener. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the rink and support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The night will also include a performance by Prince George country music artist Rick Stavely.
In Red Deer, AB, fans can catch a glimpse of the Rebels' new Third Jersey, which they will debut on Saturday night versus the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers.
In Swift Current, SK, Sunday is Skate with the Broncos day. Fans can hit the ice alongside members of the Broncos and get autographs from their favorite Broncos players.
In Vancouver, B.C., Giants' forward Brendan Gallagher is looking to wage a Giant Fight against cancer.
A LOOK AT THE CANADA WEST CONFERENCE...
The 2010-11 Canada West Conference season is set to begin, and WHL graduates will feature prominently on all seven Canada West Conference teams.
2010 MASTERCARD MEMORIAL CUP A FINANCIAL SUCCESS...
Brandon, Manitoba - The Local Host Organizing Committee for the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup is now in a position to release financial figures from one of, if not the most successful Championship to ever be hosted in Brandon.
While the 11-day Championship had a significant economic impact on western Manitoba, Host Committee Chairman Jeff Cristall is pleased to report that the event was also a financial success for the Canadian Hockey League.

Brandon Wheat Kings vs Saskatoon Blades Friday, October 1 @ Brandon; Sunday, October 3rd @ Saskatoon
The Brandon Wheat Kings and Saskatoon Blades meet up for a pair of games on the weekend in a battle between East Division rivals.
The Wheat Kings are coming off a 5-2 win in Moose Jaw over the Warriors on Wednesday to improve to 3-0 this season. 18-year-old forward Mark Stone has gotten off to a terrific start for the Wheat Kings, notching two goals and eight points through his first three games.
The Blades opened the 2010-11 season with a pair of victories over the Prince Albert Raiders last weekend. Considered a favorite in the WHL's East Division this season, the Blades will be looking to unseat the Wheat Kings as division champs.
The Blades and Wheat Kings met eight times last season, with Brandon posting a 5-2-1 record over their division rivals.
Prince George Cougars vs Vancouver Giants Friday, October 1st & Saturday, October 2nd @ Prince George
The Prince George Cougars host the Vancouver Giants on Friday and Saturday night for a weekend battle between B.C. Division rivals.
The Giants have been the class of the B.C. Division for some time, having captured five consecutive division titles, but have gotten off to a rocky start to the season after dropping three of their first four games. Brendan Gallagher has enjoyed a hot start to the season, notching four goals and nine points in four games.
The Cougars are looking to climb back up the standings in the B.C. Division after finishing fifth in the division last season. Having posted their first win of the season last Saturday in Kelowna, the Cougars will look to make a statement in their two weekend games versus the Giants.
The Cougars and Giants met eight times last season, with the Giants winning seven times.
