Sea Wolves Trade Coutu to Trenton, Complete Trade with Bakersfield

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced on Friday that defenseman Justin Coutu has been traded to Trenton in exchange for future considerations, and that defenseman Martin Frechette has been acquired from Bakersfield to complete the trade that sent forward Mike Wirll to the Condors on November 27.

Coutu, a native of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, earned seven assists and 77 penalty minutes in 36 games with Mississippi.

Frechette, 22, has skated in 39 games with the Condors this season, totaling 16 points (7g-9a) and 85 PIM. Since joining the Condors, Wirll has 15 points (7g-8a) in 17 games, and has 26 points (9g-17a) in 31 games overall this season. A native of Sherbrooke, Qc., Frechette played in 58 regular season games with Utah and Bakersfield, earning 26 assists and 88 penalty minutes as a first-year professional. Prior to turning pro, the 6-0, 200-pound Frechette played four seasons with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, scoring 38 goals and 96 assists in 234 games while accruing 387 penalty minutes.

The Sea Wolves would like to remind season-ticket holders that Saturday's game is a make-up date for the game originally scheduled for December 4. Your tickets for the December 4 game are valid for the game on February 7.
