ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades capped off a busy week with a 2-3-0 record. Overall the Everblades still enter this week with the league's best record at 33-12-2 (68 pts., 1st South Division).

Wednesday, Friday, & Saturday, February 11, 13 & 14 vs. Cincinnati Cyclones All Games: 7:30 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades Everblades welcome in the defending Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones for three games this week as the top two teams in the American Conference meet at Germain Arena. The games mark the first time Cincinnati has ever visited SW Florida either in regular season or playoffs. The games are the only three the teams will play against each other this year. The Cyclones enter this week's action having won eight of their last 10 and with an overall record of 27-17-5 (59 pts., 1st, North Division). The Everblades and Cyclones have a brief history when Florida travel to Cincinnati for a two games in 2006-07 and won both.

Wednesday, February 11 - "Ladies Night!": All ladies who purchase their tickets at the Germain Arena box office in advance or on the day of the game will receive a special ticket price of just $5! Once inside ladies can enjoy drink specials!

Wednesday, February 11 - "Suite Giveaway": Wednesday night is also the last night fans can sign up to win a dinner for two and the use of a suite at Germain Arena on Valentine's Day! For a $10 donation to the Children's Hospital of SW Florida's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit fans can fill out an entry form. The winner, who receives a prime rib dinner for two, a bottle of wine, dessert, and roses delivered by Swampee, will be selected following the game on the 11th. Visit the Everblades information table behind section 104 to place your entry!

Thursday, February 12 - Player Appearance: The Everblades will have two players and Swampee visit Buckingham Exceptional Student Center from 1 - 2 p.m. for their annual student pep rally! Contact Tony Ball at Buckingham for more information at 239-693-1690.

Saturday, February 14 - Valentine's Day!: To celebrate Valentine's Day the Everblades will be handing out carnations to the first 1,000 women who enter the arena. The carnations are courtesy of Balloon's & Flowers To Go!

"USA Hockey Night!": The Everblades celebrate USA Hockey Across America Weekend on Saturday night to support all local USA Hockey organizations including the Jr. Everblades. The Everblades are offering a special ticket price on corner section seats for just $13 (normally $15). To take advantage of the special ticket price fans must fill out the order form found on the Everblades website at www.floridaeverblades.com and click on the USA Hockey Night link under he "Promotions" tab. Fans can also call Scott Bogen in the Everblades office at 239-948-7825 ext. 1104 to place an order over the phone. For every ticket purchased fans will receive a USA Hockey puck and a portion of the proceeds will go to local USA Hockey organizations.

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

Tuesday, February 3 vs. South Carolina Stingrays 6-5 Win

The Everblades pulled off a stunning come from behind win by scoring five third period goals in less than five minutes to win their third straight game. Trailing 4-1 entering the third period the Everblades got goals from Mathieu Roy (2), Kevin Baker, Ernie Hartlieb and Noah Babin in a span of 4:50 from the 13 minute mark to the 15 minute mark to pull off the improbable come back. Ryan Lang scored the team's first goal in the first period. In goal David Leggio started but was lifted in the second period after allowing the fourth goal. Anton Khudobin finished off the game and earned the win allowing just one goal over the remainder of the contest. Florida's Special Teams: PP: 3-of-9; PK: 5-of-7.

Wednesday, February 4 vs. South Carolina Stingrays 4-3 Win

The Everblades picked up their fourth straight win with a 4-3 victory over the Stingrays at Germain Arena. The Everblades jumped to a 4-1 lead with four consecutive goals by Kevin Baker (2), Mathieu Roy and Patrick Bordeleau. In net Anton Khudobin notched the win stopping 30 of 33 shots. Florida's Special Teams: PP: 2-of-6; PK: 4-of-6.

Friday, February 6 at South Carolina Stingrays 4-3 Loss

The Stingrays returned the favor by notching a 4-3 win over the Everblades on Friday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. Danick Bouchard, Mathieu Roy and Ryan McGinnis scored the Florida goals that gave them a 3-2 lead going into the third period, but two early third period tallies by South Carolina proved to be the difference. Goaltender Anton Khudobin took the loss allowing the four goals on 38 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 2-of-6; PK: 2-of-3

Saturday, February 7 at South Carolina Stingrays 6-2 Loss

The Everblades suffered a disappointing loss at South Carolina on Saturday night. Patrick Bordeleau scored a first period goal that tied the game at one, but the Stingrays blitzed the Everblades with five straight goals after that, including four on the power play, to open a 6-1 lead going into the third period. Mathieu Roy notched a third period power play goal for Florida's second tally but that was as close as the Blades would get. In goal David Leggio suffered the loss allowing the first three goals before being relieved by Anton Khudobin who then let in the last three on four shots in a little over 11 minutes. Leggio returned to action for the third period and finished with 22 saves. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-of-7; PK: 7-of-11.

Sunday, February 8 at Charlotte Checkers 4-3 Loss

The Everblades completed a disappointing weekend with a 4-3 loss at Charlotte. Kevin Baker got the game off to a good start scoring the first goal just 1:35 into the game, but the Checkers stormed back by scoring the next four goals. A late surge in the third period got the Blades back within a goal on scores by Ernie Hartlieb and Mathieu Roy but in the end the Everblades fell short despite great pressure in the closing 90 seconds with the goaltender pulled. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-of-6; PK: 4-of-4.

Player of the Week Nominee: This week's Player of the Week nominee is Kevin Baker who registered 11 points in the five games this past week (4g, 7a).

Special Teams Breakdown: Here's a look at the special teams of the Everblades and how it breaks down overall, home and away: Power play: 72-of-317 (22.7%) which ranks the Everblades 1st in the ECHL. At home the Everblades are 23-of-130 (17.7%) which ranks 7th. On the road the Everblades are 49-of-187 (26.2%) which ranks 1st in the league. Penalty Kill: 271-of-313 (86.6%) which ranks the Everblades 4th in the ECHL. At home the 'Blades are 120-of-143 (83.9%) which is 9th. On the road the Everblades have killed off 151-of-170 (88.8%) which ranks 3rd in the league.

Goalie of the Month!: Everblades goaltender David Leggio was named the ECHL's Goaltender of the Month for January after going a perfect 8-0-0 with a 1.50 goals against average. Leggio, who also earned Goaltender of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 12-18. Leggio posted two shuouts in the month while helping the Everblades to a 12-1-0 record.

Goal Scoring Milestone!: Everblades Captain Kevin Baker became just the second Everblade in the team's 11-year history to score 40 goals in a season when his notched his 40th on Feb. 8 at Charlotte. The goal tied the Everblades single-season record for most goals in a year, matching Brian McCullough's 40 goals scored in 2003-04.

Other Single Season Records in Danger!: Baker is also within striking distance of the single-season mark for most points, which is also held by McCullough who had 87 in '03-'04. Baker currently has 70 points heading into this week's action...goaltender David Leggio is currently second in single season history with his four shutouts, one off the pace of Jeff Maund (2003-04) and Marc Magliarditi (1998-99) for the top spot.

Who's Hot: Here's a look at who's been playing well for the Everblades of late: F Kevin Baker is currently on a team-high, nine-game point scoring streak that began on Jan. 23. During the span Baker has 10 goals and added 8 assists...D Peter Metcalf has picked up points in seven of the last eight games (1g, 11a)...F Ernie Hartleb has also recorded points in seven of the last eight games (2g, 7a)...F Mathieu Roy is riding his best stretch of the season right now, scoring a goal in five straight games and points in six of the last seven (7g, 3a).

Milestone's Reached: Long-time Everblade Ernie Hartlieb reached a couple milestones in his career as an Everblade this past week. On Feb. 4 vs. South Carolina Hartlieb recorded his 200th career point as an Everblade with an assist. The current all-time Everblades leader in career points while wearing the green and blue is 319 by Reggie Berg. Hartlieb also hit a career mark as an Everblade when he played in his 250th career game on Feb. 7 at South Carolina. Brent McDonald is the Everblades all-time leader having played in 311 career games from 2000-2007...Kevin Baker played in his 250th career game on Feb. 6 at South Carolina.

Welcome Back!: The Everblades got a pair of players back from the American Hockey League on Sunday. Ross Carlson returned from his latest stint in the AHL after playing in three games with the Rochester Americans where he scored one goal and added one assist. In addition the Everblades got defenseman Aaron Brocklehurst reassigned from the Lake Erie Monsters where he played in four games and registered a plus-2 rating.

Game Date Change!!: The Everblades have moved their originally scheduled game on Sunday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m. to Saturday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. The game day promotion of "Kid's Day" will still take place on the 28th with the first 1,000 kids entering the arena receiving a kids Everblades jersey courtesy of Chick-fil-A.

Coach's Show: The Everblades' coach's show "Blades Talk" airs its next show on Tuesday, February 10 from 7-8 p.m. The show takes placed live at J. Daniels Bar & Grill it Ft.
