Game #93 - Thursday, July 19, 2007 - NYSEG Stadium - Binghamton, NY - 7:05 p.m.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME: Portland was unable to complete the three game sweep of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats as they fell in the final game of their series yesterday...The Sea Dogs longest winning streak of the season was snapped, and their four game winning streak over New Hampshire has ended as well...Now Portland starts a four-day, five-game series against Binghamton.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: The Portland Sea Dogs seven-game winning streak was snapped last night as New Hampshire downed Portland 9-2. Yusaku Iriki (1-3) got the win, allowing two runs in 5 innings of work. Chris Smith (3-5) got roughed up giving up 8 runs (7ER) in just 3 and 1/3 innings. The Fisher Cats belted out three home runs in the contest, including a 2-run homer by Chip Cannon during a 5-run 3rd. The Dogs had taken a 2-1 lead before New Hampshire's emphatic 3rd. Jed Lowrie got the Dogs half of the 3rd inning going by doubling to lead off the innings, and then scored on an error by the Fisher Cats shortstop. Andrew Pinckney would then single home Jeff Natale for Portland's second and final run of the game. The bullpen was once again phenomenal for the Sea Dogs as Beau Vaughan, Lincoln Holdzkom and Mike James fired 4 and 2/3 innings allowing one unearned run.

HAVE THE DOGS 'MET' THEIR MATCH?: The Portland Sea Dogs are 3-7 against the Binghamton Mets this year... In their previous series at Hadlock Field, the B-Mets swept a four game set...Binghamton averaged 8.75 runs-per-game in their sweep...Although Portland averaged 5 runs-per-game, it wasn't enough...Tommy Hottovy, Bryce Cox, Daniel Haigwood and Kyle Jackson each suffered a loss in the series.

HOT HITTERS, FACING FAVORABLE MATCHUP: Over their last ten games, Jed Lowrie is hitting .350 and Cory Keylor is hitting .300...The two have been hot of late, and now face a team in which they have played exceptionally well against this year...Against the Mets this year, Lowrie is hitting .360 going 9-for-25, Keylor is 11-for-33 (.333).

STREAK SNAPPED!: Portland enters tonight's game trying to start another winning streak... The Dogs had won seven consecutive games before last night's loss... The streak started on July 8th...Portland took four from New Hampshire and three from New Britain during the streak.
