
Rock Cats Have Four Roster Moves

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats, Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the American League's Minnesota Twins, announced four player moves today, including the elevation to New Britain of two Single-A Florida State League Pitchers who are among the Minnesota organization's most promising Prospects.
The details of today's transactions are as follows:
RHP Oswaldo Sosa, a 21-year-old native of Tovar, Venezuela, will join the Rock Cats today from Ft. Myers in the Single-A Florida State League. The 6'4"/225-pound hurler made 19 starts for the Miracle this season, posting a 5-5 W-L record and 2.23 ERA over 105 total innings of work. Signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent in 2002, this will be his first trip to the AA level. Baseball America ranks him as the Minnesota organization's #11 Prospect;
RHP Yohan Pino, a 23-year-old resident of Aragua, Venezuela, joins the Rock Cats from the Ft. Myers Miracle of the Single-A FSL. The 6'0"/170-pounder appeared in 19 games in Ft. Myers this year and compiled a 4-3 W-L record and 1.73 ERA over 67 total innings of work. Signed by Minnesota as a non-drafted free agent in 2004, Pino will be making his Double-A debut with this promotion. Baseball America ranks him as Prospect #27 in the Twins' organization;
RHP Kyle Waldrop, a 21-year-old resident of Knoxville, TN, departs New Britain to rejoin the Miracle in Ft. Myers. Waldrop made 11 starting appearances for the 2007 Rock Cats, compiling 3-6 W-L record and 5.34 ERA over 59 total innings of work;
LHP Errol Simonitsch, a 24-year-old resident of Glendale, CA, has been formally removed from the New Britain roster where he had been listed throughout 2007 on the Disabled List. The 6'4"/230-pound southpaw has been assigned to the Gulf Coast Twins in Florida where he will continue to rehab a shoulder injury incurred near the end of 2007 Spring Training.
