'ANOTHER CAT FIGHT': The Sea Dogs are coming off a four game set in which they were swept by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Hadlock Field...With the four consecutive losses, the Dogs currently stand four games out of the final playoff spot behind New Hampshire...Portland has now been swept in two four-game series at Hadlock Field; the Binghamton Mets swept Portland in four games from 5/10 - 5/13...The Sea Dogs hit the road for four games in three days with New Britain and then on to New Hampshire for a three game set before the All-Star Break.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Kyle Jackson (3-5) allowed 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning yesterday, 4 on a grand slam by Ryan Patterson, as the Dogs fell to the Fisher Cats 9-4. Portland took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd innings on an Eric Crozier RBI single. However, New Hampshire answered back with four of their own. In the 3rd inning, Juan Peralta and Robinzon Diaz smashed RBI doubles. In the top of the 6th, the Cats grabbed 2 more runs on a two out, 2-run single by Dustin Majewksi. In the bottom of the 6th, Dusty Brown clubbed a game tying 3-run homer, his 5th of the year. That was as close as the Dogs would get, as the Portland bullpen faltered down the stretch once again. The Sea Dogs went 2-10 with RISP yesterday, and finished the series 5-41 (.122). Daniel Haigwood had another up-and-down start last night as he fired 5.2 innings, allowing 6 hits and 4 runs while striking out 5.

JUNE WRAPUP: The Sea Dogs went 15-15 during June, hitting .271 and compiling a 3.53 team ERA...Buchholz was 4-1, 1.69 is six starts, fanning 46 in 34 innings...Jed Lowrie led the team in hitting with a .333 average and smacked 11 doubles and 4 triples...Eric Crozier led the team with four home runs and Jeff Natale knocked in 22 runs, playing in all 30 games.

NOT BRINGIN' EM IN!: The Sea Dogs left 43 runners on base in their previous four-game series with New Hampshire...They also hit a paltry .121 (5-for-41) with runners-in-scoring position in the series.

THE BUCK IS NOT STOPPING HERE: Clay Buchholz established a franchise record by striking out 46 batters in June...Earlier today, Buchholz was named the Eastern League's Pitcher of the Week, by going 1-0, 0.79 in two starts and fanning 15...Charlie Zink was selected as the E.L Pitcher of the week last week, marking the third time in franchise history that Sea Dogs pitchers earned the honor in consecutive weeks...Jonathan Papelbon and Jon Lester (June 27th- July 3rd and July 4th- July 10th, 2005)...Josh Beckett and Hansel Izquierdo (August 13th-August 19th and August 20th- August 26th, 2001)
