HAPPY FOURTH FROM HARTFORD: The Portland Sea Dogs celebrate Independence Day, opening up a five-game series with the Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies affiliate) on Wednesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park...Portland dropped three of five in their last series to Binghamton, and have lost seven straight games in Hartford...Right-hander Teddy Stankiewicz makes his 15th appearance and his ninth start of the season for Portland.

BINGHAMTON HOLDS ON: Tomas Nido snapped a 1-1 tie with a two-out RBI double in the eighth inning, leading the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to a 2-1 win in the series finale...Both teams scored in the first inning, thanks to their first two batters...Levi Michael led off the game with a double and scored on a double by Kevin Taylor...Danny Mars led off the first with a triple and scored on Chad De La Guerra's groundout.
