The Sea Dogs and New Britain Rock Cats (Twins affiliate) continue their four-game series on Friday night at New Britain Stadium...Portland still owns the best record in the Eastern League.

TOUGH SLEDING AWAY FROM MAINE : The Sea Dogs continue their four-game weekend series with the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins affiliate) on Friday night at New Britain Stadium...Portland has dropped nine of their last 10 road games, but still holds the best record in the Eastern League at 66-39...LHP Brian Johnson makes his 15th Double-A start and his second against the 'Cats...Johnson is a combined 11-3, 2.70 ERA in 19 combined starts between Portland and High-A Salem.

GOING OUT IN FASHION : RHP Jose Berrios (1-2) and RHP Cole Johnson retired the final 18 batters faced, as the Rock Cats beat the Sea Dogs, 7-1 in the series opener...1B Kenny Vargas went 3-for-3 and gave the 'Cats a 4-0 lead with a two-out grand slam in the third inning off LHP Henry Owens (13-4)...Owens suffered his first loss since May 19th, giving up five hits, five runs over 4 IP...Berrios earned his first Double-A win, tossing seven strong frames on three hits and one run...CF Aaron Hicks knocked in a pair of runs and Brad Boyer went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
